About Dr. Vargas

Dr. Vargas received his dental degree from Xavier University in Bogotá, Colombia in 1984. In 1986 he moved to the US and enrolled in Georgetown University School of Dentistry, where he was awarded a Certificate in Occlusion and Temporomandibular Biology in 1988. In the fall of the same year, he started two post-graduate programs at the prestigious State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He simultaneously worked on a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Oral Sciences. He completed his Certificate in Prosthodontics in 1990 and his Masters in 1991. His research on dental implant alloys received an award from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and was published in the top scientific journal on the subject, The International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants, in 1993.

Dr Vargas moved to Maryland and opened his Bowie office in the Fall of 1991. He was also invited to become a Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland Dental School, where he taught for two years. He opened his Clinton location in 2004 in order to satisfy the needs of his Southern Maryland patients.

Dr. Vargas has lectured on Implant Prosthetics at the Patuxent and Bowie-Crofton Dental Societies and he’s currently a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association.
